VALDEMORILLO

The project is an extension of a single family home located next to the Valmayor reservoir with a small pavilion and terrace oriented towards the water. The integration of the new building with the existing comes as a result of the sloping roofs, while the laminated wood structural frames distinguish it as different. This ‘light’ construction seeks to make a transition between the original house and the surrounding landscape

The project is hardly visible from the entry walkway, except for the gables that project slightly, finally becoming apparent from the interior of the parcel.

The structure consists of prefabricated laminate wood frames. They were assembled on site and painted white to blend with the exisiting house. The assembly at each joint employs a steel plate sandwiching the web of each frame and bolted from the exterior.

VILAPOL

Vilapol, the small village where this house is located, is elevated and looks out upon the Lugo landscape.
The house is situated on a triangular plot whose geometry determines the shape of the house, opening itself to the lush landscape and the ocean´s horizon.

The scale and layout of the openings seeks integration with the unique environment without sacrificing the strong desire to open up its most exposed facade to the landscape.

The open internal plan facilitates movement between the main rooms, placed along the open sea front. Around this covered space is where the daily life of relax during the holidays occurs.

The bright colors used in the interior are introduced as a contrast to the leaden skies of the Galician countryside.

PICAÑOL

The urban structure of the extension of Sabadell is based on a grid of smaller blocks than the Plan Cerda of Barcelona. Each block consists of many narrow and deep bays that hold housing and looms and whose juxtaposition creates a distinctive profile to the streets.

The project uses this reference for a volumetric profile, respecting the historical image and maintaining the urban scale of the environment. On the flat roof, shared spaces are proposed including an elongated swimming pool looking out over the city.

HABITECTURA

The commission consists of an information and sales office for Habitectura on an outstanding location in a large and busy Sabadell corner. .

From its unique position we intend to extract the maximum benefit, creating a warm and inviting image from the outside as a claim without fanfare, able to display projects and invite people to know Habitectura better while entering a friendly and comfortable space.

The size of the internal organization is based on one gesture – a peripheral display showing the high quality product of our clients.

Intervention with a light projection on the sidewalk of the corporate image of Habitectura indicating access to the premises completes the project.

POLAR

The project consists in the adaptation of a premises located in the Conde Duque in Madrid street for a men’s clothing store . There are three interconnected rooms and a vaulted basement.

The main assumptions were suggested from the beginning by our clients. Concepts such as “boutique”, “status”, “warmth” and “tailoring” were instrumental in laying the foundations of the proposal. This was an actual clothing store that would produce a certain atmosphere that we might call “retro”.

A curvilinear perimeter connects the three rooms of furniture producing a continuous path along which one finds different features.

The wood seemed to us to fulfill the requirements of warmth pursued by the clients. For economy and ease of construction we decided for the painting MDF. This material allowed us to easily bend manufacturing boards, like slits, make curved cuts and accurately adjust to the drywall.

Fabric such as carpeted floors and velvet curtains and changers contribute to this warmth we sought from the start.

ERMITA

The project is based on a request from a family of stonemasons, caretakers of the pilgrimage shrine that severs for annual local celebrations. For various reasons it was decided to build a new chapel in an extremely arid and beautiful spot in the northern province of the Murcia countryside, not far from where the original shrine is located.

The desert-like environment made us immediately think of something related to the dry land of the place itself and the stone blocks the activity of our client generates.

We proposed a curve unlike the neighboring buildings constructed entirely in concrete and sandstone fragments from the family quarry. The gaps in the concrete volume would hold lattice carved stone blocks of the same type.

The singular volume is presented in an indefinite scale thanks to the lack of references. An almost domestic interior shelter space and environment produces the necessary isolation and protection. The position of the altar allows its use from the outside, thus facilitating families gathering in the fields.
